सत्य सदा मौन में ही मुखर होता.....

हम प्राय: सत्संग का अर्थ किसी संत या महापुरुष की जनसभा में जाकर प्रवचन श्रवण, संकीर्तन आदि में शामिल होने से करते हैं। कारण यह कि हमारी धारणा होती है कि संतों-महात्माओं को सत्य की प्राप्ति हो चुकी होती है।

इस कारण भक्तों को यह विश्वास होता है कि परमात्मा का साक्षात्कार कर चुके अथवा ज्ञान पाए संतों की शरण में जाने पर वह हमारा भी साक्षात्कार सत्य से करा देंगे या हमारे कान में कोई मंत्रदि फूंक देंगे और हमें भी सत्य की उपलब्धि हो जाएगी। जी नहीं, ऐसे ख्याल नितांत भ्रामक हैं। कारण यह कि किसी मंत्र की पुनरावृत्ति हमें तंद्रा में अवश्य ले जा सकती है, किंतु हमें सत्य की अनुभूति नहीं करा सकती। कारण यह कि हमें वही चीज कोई दे सकता है, जो हमसे पृथक हो जिसे हमने आज तक कभी खोया ही नहीं, उसे कोई अन्य दे भी कैसे सकता है?

सद्गुरु की सदा यही विवशता रही है। इसीलिए हमें ही सद्गुरु की तलाश नहीं होती, बल्कि सद्गुरु को भी योग्य शिष्यों की तलाश होती है ताकि जो उसने जाना, वह उसे बांट सके। हमें सद्गुरु की तलाश कर निरहंकार भाव से विचारशून्य दशा में शरण में जाना चाहिए। सद्गुरु वही है जिसे परमात्मा की प्रतीति हो गई हो। उसकी शरणागति हमारी सबसे बड़ी सफलता है। सद्गुरु हमारे और परमात्मा के मध्य सेतु का काम कर सकता है। उसे सत्य का पता है और हमें सत्य का पता नहीं। इसलिए वह चांद की ओर उठने वाली उंगली की तरह उस परम की ओर इशारे कर सकता है। हमें उसकी उठी हुई उंगली को पकडऩे की बजाय उसके इशारे को समझते हुए चांद (सत्य) की ओर दृष्टि डालनी होगी। उसके संग निर्विचार, अहंकाररहित व पूर्ण समर्पण भाव से बैठना होगा। यही हमारी सबसे बड़ी तैयारी साबित होगी। कारण यह कि तभी हम उसके इशारे को समझ सकते हैं। हमें खाली पात्र की तरह उसके निकट बैठना होगा तभी उसका इशारा हमारे भीतर आश्रय पा सकेगा।

स्मरण रहे कि जिन्होंने सत्य को पाया है वे जानते हैं कि सत्य को शब्दों में बांधना नामुमकिन है। इसलिए वह मौन में भी हमें इशारा कर सकता है। कारण यह कि सत्य सदा मौन में ही मुखर होता है। मौन में ही ध्यान व समाधि की सुवास उठती व फैलती है।
