गुजराती के प्रमुख कवि, नाटककार एवं विद्वान शीतांशु यशचंद्र को 27 अप्रैल 2018 को 27वां सरस्वती सम्मान दिये जाने की घोषणा की गयी.

लोकसभा के पूर्व महासचिव डा. सुभाष सी. कश्यप की अध्यक्षता वाली 13 सदस्यीय चयन समिति ने यशचंद्र को उनकी कविता पुस्तक ‘वखार’ के लिए वर्ष 2017 का सरस्वती सम्मान पुरस्कार से सम्मानित करने का फैसला किया. पुरस्कार में 15 लाख रुपये की राशि, एक ताम्र पत्र और प्रशस्ति पत्र शामिल है.

स्मरणीय तथ्य

• के.के. बिड़ला फाउंडेशन द्वारा जारी विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार गुजरात के भुज में 1941 में जन्मे शीतांशु यशचंद्र को यह सम्मान भारतीय भाषाओं के साहित्य में प्रमुख योगदान को देखते दिया जा रहा है.

• यह सम्मान उनके काव्य संग्रह के लिए दिया गया है जो वर्ष 2009 में प्रकाशित हुआ था.

• यशचंद्र को 2006 में पद्म श्री, वर्ष 1998 में कवि सम्मान और 1996 में राष्ट्रीय सद्भावना पुरस्कार मिल चुका है.

• शीतांशु यशचंद्र एक कुशल अनुवादक और नाट्ककार के रूप में भी जाने जाते हैं.

• यशचंद्र के तीन कविता संग्रह, 10 नाटक और आलोचना की तीन पुस्तकें प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं.

• उन्हें वर्ष 1987 में साहित्य अकादमी पुरस्कार भी मिल चुका है.

सरस्वती सम्मान के बारे में जानकारी.......

सरस्वती सम्मान वर्ष 1991 में शुरू हुआ था और स्वर्गीय हरिवंश राय बच्चन को पहला पुरस्कार प्राप्त हुआ था. अब तक इस पुरस्कार को पाने वालों में विजय तेंदुलकर, सुनील गंगोपाध्याय, एम. विरप्पा मोइली, गोविंद मिश्र जैसे प्रमुख लोग शामिल हैं. सरस्वती सम्मान में शाल, प्रशस्ति पत्र, प्रतीक चिह्न और पंद्रह लाख रुपये की सम्मान राशि दी जाती है.

डोगरी भाषा की साहित्यकार पद्मा सचदेव को वर्ष 2015 का प्रतिष्ठित सरस्वती सम्मान उनकी आत्मकथा ‘चित्त-चेत’ के लिए दिया गया. वर्ष 2016 में सरस्वती सम्मान कोंकणी के जाने-माने साहित्यकार महाबलेश्वर सैल को दिया गया. उनके उपन्यास ‘हाउटन’ के लिए उनको यह सम्मान दिया गया.
